Jamel Herring

Jamel Herring (born October 30, 1985, Coram, New York, United States) is an American professional boxer in the Light Welterweight division.[1] He is currently the number one rated amateur boxer at Light Welterweight in the U.S.[2]

Amateur career

Herring won a silver medal at the 2010 World Military Games and took the a gold medal at the 2011 and 2012 Armed Forces Championships. Herring also won gold at the 2012 USA Olympic Team Trials and 2012 USA Boxing National Tournament. He is currently the Jr Light Welter Weight National Champion in the United States.[3]

Jamel has qualified for the 2012 Olympics.[4]
