Jaleswar (Nepali: जलेश्वर) is a municipality in Janakpur Zone, Nepal and is the headquarters of Mahottari District. It is located in the Terai at an altitude of 53 metres (177 feet)[1] and has about 23,533 inhabitants (2011). It is on the border with India at Sursand, Bihar and has a customs checkpoint.

To Promote local culture Jaleswor has three Community radio Stations. They are Radio Appan Methila - 94.4 MHz, Radio Rudraksha - 103.4 MHz and Jaleshwor Nath F.M. - 90.4 Mhz.
