Jal is a Hindi film which is set in the Rann of Kutch, India about an overconfident water diviner named Bakka, who tries to solve the drought problems in his village, but faces unforeseen circumstances when he tries to help a female ornithologist save flamingos.[1][2]
The film was screened and received praise at various film festivals including the "New Currents" section of the Busan International Film Festival 2013 and in the "Indian Panorama" section of the International Film Festival of India.[3] On January 8th, Jal was picked up by DAR Motion Pictures and is set for a nationwide release in India on March 21st, 2014.[3]
Synopsis
Jal revolves around a young man named Bakka (Purab Kohli), who is gifted with a special ability to find water in the desert. With the backdrop of water scarcity, the film tells a complex and intriguing story of love, relationships, enmity, deceit and circumstances that bring about the dark side of human character.

Music
The music of the film is composed by the legendary singer Sonu Nigam and ace tabla player/percussionist Bickram Ghosh.[6] This is the first time the duo will be composing for a Bollywood film.[7]
The composer duo recorded the film’s title song with Shubha Mudgal. The title song is a unique composition, for which they have used ragas like Marwa and Puriya combined with rare musical instruments like the Armenian Duduk. The entire song was created in a day.[8]
