Jacob Matthew Richardson (born February 20, 1985) is an American actor, currently acting mostly in TV series. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the film Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves and the TV series Fudge.

Career

Since declaring his aspirations to become an actor at the age of three, Jake Richardson has been on Hollywood’s fast track to stardom. Jake landed his first acting role in 1995 at the age of ten on the popular ABC series Fudge. Soon after, he appeared in the hit TV series The Nanny and as Blade in Problem Child 3.

Though silent through 1996, Jake soon starred in Walt Disney Pictures’ 1997 classic Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves as Mitch. He played a lead role in the Disney film Toothless, alongside Kirstie Alley, Ross Malinger, and directed by Melanie Mayron. He appeared in the independent film “Little Cobras” as Derek. Though not having a big following, the movie was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Jake starred as Reggie Van Dough in the 1998 Warner Home Video family comedy Richie Rich's Christmas Wish. He then made an appearance on the drama 7th Heaven as the troubled young boy, Johnny Morton.

In 2001, Jake fulfilled one of his dreams of working with Kevin Smith, making a small cameo in Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back.

Jake can also be seen in the leading role of Wade in the new Jodie Foster produced movie, “The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys,” opposite Jodie Foster and Jena Malone. Throughout 2002, Jake starred in many TV shows including NYPD Blue, Need You Know, and Boston Public. He also appeared in TV Movie Homeward Bound.

The 2003 movie Hangman's Curse, based on a Christian novel by Frank Peretti, Jake plays the gothic character of Ian Snyder. He starred in many TV shows before working again with Kevin Smith in the 2006 hit Clerks 2. Shortly after, Jake starred in the TV series Cold Case as troubled teen Trevor Dawson.

Personal life

He was born in Van Nuys, California, the son of Tim and Chris Richardson.

Richardson is married to Beth Richardson (born "Elizabeth Victoria Van Der Kellen" on June 17, 1987 in Manhattan, New York, United States). They were married on August 25, 2007 in a 6:00 P.M. ceremony in the evening at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Sleepy Hollow, New York.

The couple have two children. Their son, Tristan Rhys Richardson, was born on October 4, 2010 at 3:00 A.M. in the morning in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Their daughter, Carys Elaine Richardson, was born on December 23, 2013 at 6:00 A.M. in the morning in Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York.

The family divides its time between their homes in Los Angeles, California and Manhattan, New York.
