Jaipur Railway Station (Jaipur Junction - JP) is the largest of all railway stations in Jaipur. Jaipur also serves as the headquarters of the North Western Railway zone of the Indian Railways since 2002.[1] The Jaipur Division of the North Western Railway is also headquartered at Jaipur.

It is located along Railway Road. The inter-state bus terminal Sindhi Camp is also close to the station. It is linked to other parts of the country by meter gauge and broad gauge lines. Jaipur station alone deals with 88 Broad Gauge and 22 Meter Gauge trains and 35,000 passengers in a day.It has 7 platforms . It is the busiest railway station in Rajasthan.[1] It has direct trains on the broad gauge network to all major cities in Rajasthan and India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Indore, Ratlam Junction, Chandigarh, Ernakulam, Kota, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Gandhinagar, Pune, Guwahati, Ujjain, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Itarsi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram etc. and metre gauge network to Sri Ganganagar, Churu and Sikar.

One of India's most famous and luxurious trains The Palace on Wheels, also makes a scheduled stop in Jaipur.[2] Jaipur Junction is 5 km away from City wall of Jaipur.
