Jaidev Kumar (Hindi: जयदेव कुमार) is an Indian musician and producer, who was born in Delhi but who moved to Mumbai in 2000. Kumar is the music king for the Punjabi industry[citation needed]. He has been working for Punjabi music industry since 1999. His first album was Dil Lai Gayi. He is the son of music director K Panna Lal.

Early life

When Kumar was 5 or 6 years old, his father died and his family then had no relations with music. After some years his sister married ghazal singer Chandan Dass. Kumar started to play guitar with Dass. He did lots of work for DD1. His first teacher was Chote Lal. He started music in 1986. He also played guitars for hotels. Kumar was an assistant to Charanjit Ahuja.
