Jackie Fairweather (née Gallagher; born 10 November 1967) is an Australian triathlete and long-distance running.

Gallagher began competing in triathlon in 1992 and won the elite Australian National Series in her first season. She spent eight years as a professional triathlete. In 1996 she became the world triathlon champion, setting a championship record time of 1 hour 50 minutes 52 seconds in Cleveland, Ohio. She also won the World Duathlon Championships in 1996 to become the only person ever to win both world titles in the same year.

Gallagher won the Duathlon World Championships again in 1999, but narrowly missed repeating the double, when 2nd to Loretta Harrop in the Triathlon World Championship. Gallagher collected further World Championship silver medals in 1995 and 1997.

She won the bronze medal in the marathon in the 2002 Commonwealth Games,[1] after finishing 11th in her first ever marathon in Boston.[2] In 2005 she won the Gold Coast Marathon.[3]

She married the Australian Olympic archery champion Simon Fairweather in 2004.[4]

She has a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and currently works as a senior sports consultant at the Australian Sports Commission. She was the inaugural coach of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Triathlon program between 2001 and 2005.[5]

On the 21st of March 2010, Jackie ran her 100,000th kilometer. She has recorded over 100,000 kilometers covered on a bicycle and has swum over 9000 kilometers.[citation needed]
