Ivan Tomić (Serbian Cyrillic: Иван Томић; born 5 January 1976) is a former Yugoslavian footballer.

Club career

He grew up with one of the teams of his city, FK Partizan.

In 1998 he was signed up by AS Roma when they missed the signing of Dejan Stanković, but he played only few games having a low efficiency. Thus he was loaned to Deportivo Alavés, where he was a regular. He played in the 2001 UEFA Cup Final that the Basque team lost 4–5 against Liverpool.

Back to Roma he played only few matches in Coppa Italia and was loaned again to Deportivo Alavés in 2003 and Rayo Vallecano in 2004.

In 2004 he came back to his first club, Partizan, and with the crno-beli he played a total of 332 games scoring 66 goals.

He retired from professional football in 2007.

Partizan director of football

Upon retiring, Tomić immediately became Partizan's director of football. He is credited for discovering and signing future fan favourites Juca, Almami Moreira and Lamine Diarra all of whom were almost completely unknown to the Serbian public at the time of their signing.
