Ivan Wilfred Thrasher (May 21, 1914 – January 21, 2011) was a Canadian politician, who represented Windsor—Sandwich in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1964 to 1967 as a Progressive Conservative member.

Originally elected in a by-election caused by the retirement of the sitting Liberal MPP, Maurice Bélanger, Thrasher served as a backbencher in the majority Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario government led by Premier John Robarts.

Background

Thrasher joined the Canadian Armed Forces, in 1940, and served in the 1st and 2nd Regiments, participating in both the Italian campaign and the liberation of Holland. After returning to Canada, he began a turkey farm, then a successful real estate business and, after his political service, he bred and raced thoroughbred horses.

Married to his wife, Orpha, for 64 years, they had five children.
