Itoigawa Station (糸魚川駅 Itoigawa-eki) is a JR West railway station located in the city of Itoigawa, Niigata Prefecture, Japan.

Layout

There are one side platform and one Island platform with Kirikaki platform.

1 Hokuriku Main Line for Naoetsu, Niigata and Echigo-Yuzawa ( Side Platform )
2 Hokuriku main Line passing etc.( Island Platform )
4 Ōito Line for Minami-Otari ( Kirikaki Platform of Platform 2 )
3 Hokuriku main Line for Toyama and Kanazawa ( Island Platform )

History

  • 16 Dec, 1912 - Itoigawa station was opened. ( Nadachi - Itoigawa was opened as Branch of Shin'etsu Line. Itoigawa was a terminal station.)
  • 1 Apr, 1913 Line name was changed to Hokuriku Line. Itoigawa - Ōmi was opened.
  • 14 Nov, 1934 Itoigawa - Nechi was opened as Ōito-North Line
