István Pintér

István Pintér (Slovene: Števan Pinter) (ab. January 25, 1831 – December 11, 1875) was Hungarian Slovene writer and court in Felsőszölnök.
He was born and lived in the Jánoshegy (Janošovi brejg), near Felsőszölnök. His parents was István Pintér sg. and Mária Bajzék. About 1864 wrote his cantor-book. In this hymnal collected religious folk songs in Prekmurian language. The oldest hymn is the Krisztus nam je od szmrti sztao (Christ is risen from the dead we) is the from manuscript of Stična Monastery in Styria.
