Ismet Štilić (born 31 July 1960) is a retired Bosnian footballer who played as a midfielder.

Football career

Štilić began his 14-year professional career with hometown club FK Sloboda Tuzla, making his debuts with the first team in 1981. He also played one season for FK Rudar Prijedor and two for FK Novi Sad before making a move to FK Željezničar.

After four years with the Sarajevo-based team, Štilić moved abroad, where he remained until his retirement. He started with União da Madeira, appearing in only 17 games in one 1/2 top division seasons combined, then scoring 10 goals with Leça F.C. as the club promoted from the third level; he returned to that level in 1994, appearing for Sport Clube Dragões Sandinenses and retiring at the age of 35.

Štilić began working as a coach with former team Željezničar, first with the youth sides then as assistant to Jiří Plíšek. In early November 2004, the Czech was sacked and he was appointed as his replacement,[1] going on to act as caretaker for several matches, and eventually returning to the youth team.

Personal

Štilić's son, Semir, is also a footballer and a midfielder. He too played for Željezničar, also representing Lech Poznań for several seasons, as well as the Bosnian national team.
