Ismaila Shareef

Ismaila Shareef is a large farming village of (Tehsil Kharian) Gujrat District, Punjab, Pakistan.

Ismaila Shareef is located on Kharian Road, between the two cities of Kharian and Dinga, between 'Head-Rasool Nehar' (A river flowing directly from Kashmir) and 'Saifal' (a small canal running from Head Rasool Nehar), Ismaila Shareef falls under the Tehsil of Kharian and within the district of Gujrat, Pakistan.

Ismaila Shareef is known within the Gujrat district for shrines of Sufi saints and their Dargahs. Most people of Ismaila Shareef belong to Gujjar tribe (Morariya amongst the majority, Thikariyay, Chohan, khatana, Bhlot) & ( Butt, Jutt), land-owning cattle herders. thumbnail

Education

Ismaila Shareef has three primary schools, one for boys and one for girl and one of co-educational English medium primary school Fresh Rose Model School(Owner: Ex Chief Warrant Officer Riaz Ahmed) which is located in village and a modern private high school (English medium) located just outside the village on the main Dinga Road, where students from almost 20 miles away come and learn. Some persons are most educated in Ismaila Sharif (Sajjad Sultan & Ch Ismail Adovacate). Two Civil Engineer's are also in the village (Shahbaz Ahmed (K.S.A.) & Adeel Munir). Qaisar Ikram is doing Work as a Supervisor in K.S.A. The most important is Professor Riaz Butt who is teaching in U.K. Two M.A English are also there (Mukhtiar Ahmed & Mujahid Munir). M.A Islamiyat is also there (Syed Ali Raza Kazmi). Allotted of bachelor's are there (Faisal Masood, Ali Hussain (Arbi), Ehsan Farooq Butt, Nisar Ahmed, Adil Munir Butt, Mubashir Rafi Butt & Mujahid Saleem).Sajjad Sharif is properly doing work as a Doctor.

Umair Riaz is an energetic and passionate Graphic Designer. He is representing his soil with his Colors, Creative Executions and Concepts. He is working in a well reputed Advertising Agency and his peer group knows him with his exceptional work style.

The most important thing is that 40% girls are educated there over all, but nowadays there are 85% girls are getting education in different locations. Abida Perveen (Principle of Fresh Rose Model School) is first person in 1989 who was educated in whole village.

History

Ismaila Shareef is an old village. There is evidence that this village was established in the 16th century, before the partition of India in 1947, and was predominantly a Muslims village. The Khatana inhabitants of Ismaila Shareef are believed to have migrated from Kashmir and are of the 'khatana' sub-cast of 'Gujjars'. There are still the ruins of pre-partition buildings in Ismaila Shareef.

Over the years the village has modernized with the aid of large investments from its overseas residents in UK,France,USA, Australia and the Arabian peninsula, resulting in large 3 story Marble houses and a taste in expensive horses, maids, luxury cars, etc. Most of the families within the village have at least two members family overseas.

Specialty

The people of Ismaila Sharif are very simple. They are very hospitable and they love brotherhood.

Sports

They believes that health is wealth & a healthy body has a healthy mind. Cricket & Net ball are favorite games of inhabitant of Ismaila Sharif. They arrange many tournaments there. They win many district level tournaments. Baby shah is famous for cricket because he is the Captain of team before 10 years. The race is held every year.

Visiting places

Small canal called Saifal is very famous. At least every person of village go there for walk at evening for walk and outing. it has very beautiful scenery. Three big grounds are at the Saifal all the young boys come here for playing.

Religion

At least there are 99.5% Muslims. 5 big mosques are in the village. The most famous Jamia Bilal Masjid has capacity of 2000 persons for offering prayer. At least 300 Millions rupees are used for building that mosque. At least 40% people offer there prayer regularly. The people of Ismaila are not very practicing Muslims. but we hope one day we would be a practicing Muslims.
