Ismail Yoon (Pashto: اﺳﻤﺎﻋﻴﻞ یون) is an Afghan writer and political analyst, currently teaching at Kabul University.[1]

Early life and education

Ismail Yoon was born on March 18, 1968 in Alokhel village of Alingar District, Laghman, Afghanistan.[2] He attended primary school in Alingar and graduated from Khushal Khan High School, Kabul. After graduating from high school, he was admitted in the Faculty of Language and Literature at Kabul University where he received both an undergraduate and master's degree in Pashto language.[2]

Academic work

In early 2009, Ismail Yoon printed a collection of 33 books in Pashto language.[3] He has written several books and articles in Pashto, English and Persian.

Personal life

Ismail Yoon is married to Aryan Yoon, a former university lecturer and an elected member of Wolesi Jirga (House of the People) representing the people of Nangarhar Province.
