Ismael Ignacio Fuentes Castro (born August 4, 1981 in Linares) is Chilean football defender, who is currently playing with Deportes Antofagasta.

He began his career with Chilean club Rangers in 2001. He also spent one season with Colo-Colo. On June 19, 2008, Fuentes made a terrible mistake against Venezuela in the 2010 World Cup Qualifiers. He let the ball go though his legs in his goal area and did not notice Juan Arango behind him, and Arango equalized the game, 2–2. Humberto Suazo scored in the last minute however to give Chile the win over Venezuela, 3–2. Despite this error, Fuentes is still an important player in the Chilean team.
