Isao Kobayashi (小林功 Kobayashi Isao, born October 28, 1988) is a Japanese mixed martial artist and current lightweight King Of Pancrase.[2]
"ISAO"(all uppercase) ring name of Kobayashi in Japan.
Mixed martial arts career
Kobayashi has experienced judo in high school.He made his professional debut in Mixed Martial Arts organization called "TRIBELATE" in Japan on April 26, 2008.
Pancrase
Kobayashi debuted in Pancrase in 2009. He had won up to the final to win the "Neo Blood Tournament" from his debut, defeated by TKO due to pound the Hirotaka Tomiyama in the finals.
Kobayashi played in the main event of Pancras on November 3, 2010, and played against Artur Oumakhanov, former Cage Force Lightweight champion. He won in the Technical Submission by Guillotine Choke strangle in the first round.
Kobayashi fought in the Pancrase Lightweight Grand Prix in 2011, The winner of the next Lightweight championship challenger . He Won by split decision to Yukinari Tamura quarter-finals.In the semi-final, Kobayashi was victory Tomoyoshi Iwamiya Unanimous Decision to draw in the past.
In the finals, Kobayashi became the KO victory to Kazuki Tokudome continued to hit the punch, to Pancrase Lightweight tournament winner in 2011. kobayashi KO punch in the Pancrase official site named "ISAO hyaku-retsu-ken (ISAO百烈拳/In Japanese, meaning that fire hundreds of fist)".[3]
April 2012, Kobayashi was challenged in the first championship with Koji Oishi. It was also the only revenge to the past for Kobayashi defeated opponent at the same time.Kobayashi was victory to Oishi in Unanimous Decision. He became the new champion of Pancrase.
In December 1, 2012, Kobayashi fought Kenichiro Togashi at Pancrase and won by TKO at 16 seconds of the 1st round.[4]
