Isa Bakar

This is a Malay name; the name Bakar is a patronymic, not a family name, and the person should be referred to by the given name, Isa.

Isa Bakar (25 December 1952– 28 August 2010) was a football player who represented the Malaysian national football team in the 1970s.^[1] He played for Penang FA in Malaysia's domestic competition.^[2]

Isa represented Malaysia when it finished third in the 1974 Asian Games in Iran. In the same year, he was part of the Malaysia Cup-winning Penang side. Besides that, in the year 1976, he also helped Penang side to win the international tournament, Aga Khan Gold Cup held in Dhaka. Prolific striker and formed a deadly combination with Mokhtar Dahari. Started career playing in the Penang League having represented Malayawata and later the Penang Port Commission team into the FAM soccer competition.^[3]

His older brother Ali Bakar was also a football player, also playing for Penang and Malaysia.
