Persian hip hop (or Iranian hip hop) is a style of hip hop that emerged in the 90s. It is influenced by western hip-hop music but It is credited with inspiring contemporary Iranian music. Iranian hip-hop originated from Tehran, the capital city of Iran. Many of official and underground artists and a few producers are active in this genre of music.[1]

Due to the complicated nature of making music Iran,[2] there are no reliable reliable public sources that provide facts about the country's premier artists, the originating artist(s) or group(s) for given genre, their songs or points of view.[citation needed] There are a few of known independent active artists from that era in Tehran.[citation needed]

By the end the post-Iran-Iraq War Era (1990s decade) and with the arrival of computers and soft-synths, the first groups of Iranaians to create Persian language hip hop in Iran stated to create Western inspired music.. First Tehran-based rap group was 021 and they were known to be the premier artists of the genre.[3]
