Ion Motroc (born 14 February 1937) is a former Romanian international football defender who played for clubs in Romania and Turkey.

Career

Born in Bucharest, Motroc started playing football for FC Dinamo București. In 1960, he joined rivals FC Rapid București, winning the Romanian league during the 1966–67 season.

Motroc next moved to Turkey to join Altay S.K., making him one of the first Romanians to play professional football in Turkey.[1] He made eight appearances in the Süper Lig during the 1969–70 season.

Motroc made two appearances for the Romania national football team.[2]

After retiring from playing football, Motroc became a football manager. He would be appointed manager of Rapid București in 1975.
