Invisible, Inc. is an upcoming turn-based tactics video game developed by Candian independent studio Klei Entertainment.[2] The company previously created the games Don't Starve, Mark of the Ninja, and Shank.[2] The game is available for preorder through Steam Early Access which includes access to alpha and beta versions of the game while it is being developed.[1] The game is set for a 2014 release.[1]

Gameplay

The game is a turn-based tactics game inspired by XCOM,[3] with emphasis on stealth and espionage.[4] The objective of the game is for players to steal items by breaking into various secured locations.[3] Levels in the game are procedurally generated and change each time the game is played.[2] The game includes permadeath for player characters so that when one dies during the game they are dead for the entirety of the play-through.[3]

Development

The game was first announced on July 2, 2013, in an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun's Nathan Grayson.[5][6] A preview of the alpha version of the game was shown at the September PAX Prime 2013 expo. After playing the preview, Grayson commented that the game was very early in development, but that he "really enjoyed" his session with the game.[7]

The title was originally called Incognita but was renamed to Invisible, Inc. after developer Klei Entertainment found the new title was better received during focus testing. Game Informer's Bryan Vore wrote that a number of the magazine's editors "will miss the old title".[8]
