International Balkan University[1] (also known as IBU) is a university founded by the Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation and located in Skopje, Macedonia. It was created with the support of Turkish and Macedonian businessmen and professors. The university opened in 2006 with seven students and now has more than 500 students from many different nationalities.
Accreditation
The university is accredited by the Macedonian Ministry of Education. Representatives of the Turkish High Education (YÖK) made their first visit to the university in 2008, and now the university is also accredited by YÖK.
Departments and faculties
International Balkan University has five departments with seven programs:
- Faculty of Technical Sciences: Industrial Engineering, Information Technologies Department
- Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences: International Economic Relations, Management and Public Administration
- Faculty of Communications: Public Relations
- Faculty of Languages: English Language and American Studies
- Faculty of Fine Arts: Graphic Design
