The intercostal arteries are a group of arteries that supply the area between the ribs ("costae"), called the intercostal space.
- Highest intercostal artery - first and second intercostal spaces
- Anterior intercostal branches of internal thoracic artery - upper five or six intercostal spaces
- Anterior intercostal branches of musculophrenic artery - lower seventh to ninth intercostal spaces
- Posterior intercostal arteries - posterior wall
