Interceptor Entertainment is a Danish video game developer headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark. The company is notable for a company policy that encourages its staff to work from home. This has led to the development team becoming international in its composition, employing developers from ten different countries. The distribution of work tasks and discussion of progress is done virtually, through a private company forum.[2]
History
In 2010, the company quickly assembled a world class development team to begin work on their first title, Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded. The work done on the unprecedented fan project that became the officially licensed remake of Duke Nukem 3D led to Interceptor being contracted to work on several high profile titles for multiple platforms including PC, XBLA, PSN and iOS.
In September of 2011, after Duke Nukem Reloaded was halted, Apogee Software contacted Interceptor Entertainment and the two companies conversed over the following months. In that time, the idea and contract for rebooting Rise of the Triad was made a reality and production started shortly afterwards. Development of their first major project, a reboot of Rise of the Triad began in early 2012. In July of 2013, Interceptor released their completed reboot of the franchise, which has since won several awards and was on the "Top Selling” list on Steam for several weeks.[citation needed]
In September and October of 2013, Interceptor Entertainment moved its headquarters from Herning to Aalborg.
Today, the Interceptor virtual team has roughly 35 employees spread across 10 countries and several employees based at their headquarters in Aalborg.
