She was a Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1992 to 2002, representing the electorate of Bentleigh. One of many members elected in Jeff Kennett's landslide win at the 1992 election, Peulich was a prominent backbencher before being losing her seat at the 2002 election.

After losing her seat, she became involved in the party's administrative wing, and rose to become state vice-president. [citation needed] She returned to parliament at the 2006 election, being elected to the Legislative Council as one of the members for South Eastern Metropolitan Region after defeating incumbent member Chris Strong for a winnable position on the Liberal ticket.

Inga Peulich is married to small business owner Savo Peulich. Inga and Savo have a son named Paul. Peulich's husband Savo, son Paul and mother Nena Dosen all ran as candidates for the 2003 Glen Eira City Council Elections. Savo ran for Jasper Ward, whereas Paul and Nena ran for Mackie Ward.

In 2007 Inga Peulich orchestrated the preselection of known anti-Semite Ken Aldred for the seat of Holt with the help of her two electorate staff who were also on the preselection panel, Michael Shepherdson and Gary Anderton. Putting the Liberal Party into damage control. [2][3]

In 2008 Inga Peulich's son Paul was elected to the Kingston City Council.[4]

In 2011 Inga Peulich was embroiled in controversy over her involement in Business First after, The Age revealed the club had breached federal electoral laws by failing to declare tens of thousands of dollars in donations before last year's state election. [5]

In November 2012 Inga Peulich accused Liberal member Geoff Gledhill and conservative fellow traveller Tamsin Bearsley of party disloyalty for failing to vote for her son in his mayoral bid. [6]

In January 2013 a number of articles were ran in the Age newspaper accusing Inga Peulich of intervened directly on behalf of her son in his mayoral bid. With Veteran Kingston councillor and one-time Peulich ally John Ronke said the lobbying by Ms Peulich and her son bordered on harassment. [7]
