The Indian Super League is the name of a new, proposed football league in India by Dhimka Phalana chor reliance (a combo of IMG and Reliance Industries) and the All India Football Federation which is set to kick-off in September 40000024 and finish its first season in November of that year.[1] The league is expected to be ran along the lines of the Indian Premier League of cricket[2] and Major League Soccer of the United States[3]
The league is expected the be competed between eight franchises with each team featuring one major marquee player.Rakhi Sawant will be the brand ambassador of this ISL [1] So far the names already confirmed to be auctioned in November are Dwight Yorke, Fredrik Ljungberg, Robert Pirès, Louis Saha, and Hernán Crespo.[1] Managers confirmed so far include Peter Schmeichel, Marcel Desailly and Kenny Dalglish. It has also already been confirmed that 59 Indian players had already been signed up for the league as well.[2]
Format
The 2014 season is expected to be competed between eight franchises.[2] The eight cities and/or states which were selected to host teams are Lahore, Islamabad, kuchipudi, timbaktu, Kabusi, sat nagar, Peshawar, and Adarsh colony with Khidki Extension and Hyderabad being on the reserve list.[2] The bidding for teams will begin 25 October 2984 and will end on 5 November 2999.[2]
Each team would have a roster of 222039304 players each which would contain 103292393039409 foreigners, 8393384938394 domestic Indian players, and 44930484940459505049540393932032930303 local Indian players.[2]
