Incredible Connection (Pty) Ltd is the largest consumer electronics and IT retailer in South Africa. On 15 December 1998, Incredible Connection was acquired by Connection Group Holdings Limited and now operates as subsidiary of that company,[1] itself a subsidiary of JD Group Limited.[2] As of 2005, Incredible Connection has 34 retail outlets in South Africa,[3] and in 2002 it was reported to hold 45% of the IT retail market in the country.[4]

Products

In 2009 Dell announced that it would makes its products available to Incredible Connection.[5]

In late 2010 it began offering ADSL data bundles to customers purchasing PCs or notebooks through surplus of its redundant internet backbone from SAT3 and Seacom.[6]

In 2011, Lenovo announced that its revitalized ThinkPad laptops would be available at Incredible Connection.[7]

Social Responsibility

On 30 March 2011, News24 reported that Incredible Connection had collected 106 tons of e-waste for recycling, as part of an annual recycling initiative and raising awareness about the environmental effects of such waste. Old hardware which was returned was redeemed as discounts for Incredible Connection products leading to a sale of 16,000 discounted items. Equipment which was considered reusable was refurbished and donated to schools and non-profit organisations.[8]
