Gautier Serre (born in 1984), better known as Igorrr, is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist known for blending many styles of music in his albums such as electronic music, breakcore, Baroque, Death Metal, Trip-hop, etc.

Biography

Active since 2005, he started out with his first self-produced demos, Poisson Soluble in 2006 and Moisissure in 2008, a reissue of these two demos was released later on the label Ad Noiseam in 2011 as a double CD.

After these first two releases, Igorrr released his album Nostril in 2010 to critical acclaim. The magazine Les Inrockuptibles listed Nostril among the four most important albums in Metal / Electro[1] along with bands like Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Ministry.

The magazine Trax called it "confusing maturity" and a "work of craftsmanship."

The music of Igorrr received airplay time on radio stations such as France Culture, Le Mouv', and France Musique.

Thereafter, Gautier Serre did many concerts in France and abroad, particularly in Eastern Europe, including Russia, Lebanon and North America.

He has also made various musical collaborations with bands such as Morbid Angel on the album Illud Divinum Insanus - The Remixes[2] released in 2012 on the label Season of Mist, and with the group Vladimir Bozar 'n' ze Sheraf Orchestar, with which he shares credits on the album Universal Sprache:[3] Thermostat 7.

Igorrr produced a fourth album, released in 2012, which took two years to complete named Hallelujah. The release date was chosen as December 21, 2012 which was considered by many as the day of the end of the world. He also played a concert at the famous Berghain club in Berlin on this evening to celebrate the release of the disc. Hallelujah features much more real instruments being played than on previous releases. The album was represented by many genres, and many musicians were invited to play on the album including:

  • Baroque singer Laure Le Prunenec.
  • Guitarist Teloch best known as a member of the black metal band Mayhem .
  • Adam Stacey on accordion of Estradasphere .
  • Benjamin Violet, French violinist of Tryo .

  • 2009: "Concrete" with Yann Coppier, from -i snor.
  • 2012: "4247 Snare Drums" with Vincent Goubeau, from Mulk.

The name of the last album is the exact number of snare hits that are on the disk. This project was more brutal than Igorrr, though ceased all activity in 2013.
