Ieu Koeus (Ieu Koeuss Khmer: អៀវ កឹស) (1905 – January 14, 1950) served as Prime Minister of Cambodia for nine days in September 1949. Considered an intellectual,បញាវន្តុ he was instrumental in the formation of the Cambodian Democratic Party in April 1946, created a self-declared governmentរដ្ឋាភិបាលអក្បគមន៍ on September 20, 1949, was replaced by Yem Sambaurយឹម សំបូរ on September 29. Koeus served the shortest tenure in Cambodia's prime ministerial history.
On January 14, 1950, a hand grenade was thrown into the party headquarters, fatally wounding Koeus, who led the National Union Movement.[1] The man throwing the grenade was captured and arrested, admitting, then later denying, that he was a member of the opposing Liberal party. Blame for the assassination, however, varies from the French, King Sihanouk,នរោត្តម សីហនុ Yem Sambaur, and rebel Issaraksខ្មែរឥស្សារក្ស with little evidence available. Koeus' son Ieu Pannakarអៀវ បញ្ញាកា is a current-day Cambodian senator.
