Icon is a compilation album from the American grunge band Nirvana. It was released on August 31, 2010.
Overview
Icon is the band's second greatest hits collection. The album was part of the Icon series launched by Universal Music Enterprises, which featured greatest hits releases "from 30 major artists spanning rock, pop, R&B and country."[2]
The album features "You Know You're Right", first released on the band's 2002 greatest hits album, Nirvana, as well as the four singles from the band's 1991 breakthrough album Nevermind ("Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Come as You Are", "Lithium", "In Bloom") and three singles from their 1993 follow-up album In Utero ("Heart-Shaped Box", "Pennyroyal Tea", "Rape Me"), plus one album track from In Utero ("Dumb"). The album also includes the single from the MTV Unplugged In New York album ("About a Girl") and the unplugged version of "All Apologies", which was a promotional single.
