ISO 3166-2:CZ

ISO 3166-2:CZ is the entry for the Czech Republic in ISO 3166-2, part of the ISO 3166 standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which defines codes for the names of the principal subdivisions (e.g., provinces or states) of all countries coded in ISO 3166-1.

Currently for the Czech Republic, ISO 3166-2 codes are defined for two levels of subdivisions:

Each code consists of two parts, separated by a hyphen. The first part is CZ, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code of the Czech Republic. The second part is either of the following:

  • two letters: regions
  • three characters (two digits followed by a digit or a letter): districts

For the districts, the first two digits indicate the region where the district is in (based on the original NUTS code of the region):

Subdivision names are listed as in the ISO 3166-2 standard published by the ISO 3166 Maintenance Agency (ISO 3166/MA).

Subdivision names are sorted in Czech alphabetical order: a (á), b, c, č, d (ď), e (é) (ě), f, g, h, ch, i (í), j, k, l, m, n (ň), o (ó), p, q, r, ř, s, š, t (ť), u (ú) (ů), v, w, x, y (ý), z, ž.
