Products and services
iPass Open Mobile (OME): iPass Open Mobile is a cloud-based mobility platform for the enterprise that allows enterprise customers’ business travelers to connect to the Wi-Fi hotspots in the iPass Mobile Network from smartphones, tablets, and laptops. iPass Open Mobile supports iOS, Android, and Windows 8 mobile devices, as well as Mac and Windows for laptops. Part of iPass Open Mobile is a built-in hotspot finder, which allows enterprise users to quickly identify, locate, and navigate to any of the millions of iPass hotspots globally. Business travelers can also use iPass Open Mobile to test the speed of the hotspot to which they are connected to help ensure that the connection has the appropriate speed and strength for the enterprise application they plan to use.
iPass Mobile Network: Open Mobile Exchange, (OMX) iPass partners with Wi-Fi service providers around the world to bring their commercial hotspots into the iPass network so that iPass Open Mobile subscribers can connect to these hotspots from an iPass account. This is known as “Wi-Fi roaming,” which, in the language of 3G/4G telecommunications, means the ability to use the local infrastructure to connect to the Internet away from the user’s home area on a pre-determined plan.
Managed Networks (iPass Unity): iPass designs, builds, and manages a customized Wi-Fi or WAN that can be managed remotely or on-site. This provides industries with multiple locations the ability to offer the same level of Wi-Fi service across their corporate infrastructure without having to manage multiple local carriers and charges. This type of managed service is particularly prevalent in retail, financial, insurance, healthcare, real estate, service providers, or organizations with multiple branch offices.
