The assault rifle,"IA2", manufactured and designed in the Brazil by the company IMBEL to be the replacement of the FAL, M16A2 and HK33, which is used by the Brazilian Armed Forces.
Features
Family rifle in 2 gauges: 5.56x45mm NATO and 7.62x51mm NATO, use of the polymer handguard, handle and buttstock, the insulating sleeve (in red color) between the barrel and the hand guard. The glove is also available in 7.62; clips for attaching the sling 5.56 different from 7.62. In the latter, the clip is rotatable and stuck in the barrel. At 5.56, is arrested by the handguard and located on both sides of the body of the weapon (butterfly-shaped); Picatinny rails for mounting various accessories, the butt of 5.56 retractable and foldable, new ergonomic handle with a very different angle.[1][2]

Thanks to its body which features multiple Picatinny rails, the IA2 supports a wide range of equipment and accessories such as scopes, flashlights, grenade launchers, lasers, etc.

Brazil: The IA2 and its variants being distributed in 2012 to some security forces (Military Police, Civil Police and Federal) and Brazilian Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force).
- Brazilian Army: The Brazilian Army acquired by the Ordnance Industry of Brazil (IMBEL) 20,000 units of the assault rifle 5.56 mm IA2[5]
- Military Police of São Paulo State purchased lot of 500 units of the assault rifle 5.56 mm IA2[6]
- Military Police of Espírito Santo State Unknown number purchased 5.56mm IA2 Carabine.
