The Hyundai i20 WRC is a World Rally Car built by Hyundai for use in the 2014 World Rally Championship.[4] It is based on the Hyundai i20 subcompact car, and was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The launch of the i20 marks Hyundai's return to the World Rally Championship after a ten-year absence.[5] The car is scheduled to make its first competitive appearance at the 2014 Rallye Monte Carlo.[6]
The car will be operated by Hyundai's performance division, Hyundai Motorsport from a base in Frankfurt, Germany,[7] and will be driven by Thierry Neuville,[3] with Juho Hänninen, Chris Atkinson and Dani Sordo sharing the team's second entry.[1][2] Additional development work will be carried out by Bryan Bouffier.[8]
