Hvalfjarðarsveit is a municipality located in Iceland.
As of January 1, 2011, it had a total population of 617 and a population density of 1.42 per square kilometer. The total area is 482 km².
History
The municipality was formed on 1 June 2006, by the union of the former municipalities of Hvalfjarðarstrandarhreppur, Innri-Akraneshreppi, Leirár- og Melahreppi and Skilmannahreppi.
