The company was founded in 1973 when Ray Pearson, Tom Spero, and Jim and Joe Gende converted three Little King franchises to the original Hungry Hobo locations. The three Little King locations were in Moline, Davenport and Rock Island. The concept was expanded and locations opened in Old Town, East Moline, Bettendorf, Milan, Browning Field, Kennedy Square, Elmore, West Locust, John Deere Road, 53rd Street, and LeClaire.
In 2013, the company celebrated their 40th anniversary.
