Humphrey Richard Woollcombe Smith (born 12 December 1944)[1] in Tadcaster, Yorkshire, England is an owner of the Samuel Smith Brewery.

Smith is the son of Geoffrey Roy Holland Smith and Rosamond Margaret Stirling Woollcombe. He has one brother, Oliver Geoffrey Woollcombe Smith, and two sisters, Clarissa Catherine Woollccombe Smith and Charlotte Imogen Woollcombe Smith. He married Julia Carlotta Gladstone, daughter of John Gladstone of Capenoch and Diana Rosamond Maud Fleming Hamilton, in June 1985. They have two children, Maud Rosamond Gladstone Smith, born April 1986, and Samuel Geoffrey Gladstone Smith, born December 1988.[2]

Smith lives at Oxton Hall near Tadcaster and also owns the nearby Nun Appleton Estate and Hall.

He is thought to be one of the wealthiest men in Yorkshire, yet his name never appears on the Sunday Times Rich List.
