Humaima Malick (born 18 November 1987) is a Pakistani actress and model who appears in Pakistani and Bollywood films and serials. She is best known for portraying leading role in serials Ishq Junoon Deewangi, Tanveer Fatima (B.A), Talluq and Akbari Asghari. Malick made her film debut in 2011 with Shoaib Mansoor's Bol which was first highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time. Malick went on to win Lux Style Awards, London Asian Film Festival, Pakistan Media Awards and South Asian Rising Star Film Awards. She was later noted for portraying modern, independent women in several commercially successful films, including the 2013 romantic film Ishq Khuda.
Early life
Humaima Malick was born in Quetta, Pakistan. She started her education in Quetta and graduated from Government Girls College Quetta.[2] She then moved to Karachi along with her family following her father's retirement. She has five siblings, two brothers and three sisters.
Career
Modeling
Malick started her career as a model, at the age of fourteen, through a Fair and Lovely campaign.[1] She first walked the ramp for fashion designer Deepak Perwani at the age of fourteen. Since then she has appeared in fashion shows for numerous designers.
Television (2009-2011)
Malick made her acting debut in Hum TV serial Ishq Junoon Deewangi. She then appeared in Barish Kay Ansoo on Geo TV, Tanveer Fatima (B.A), Tair-e-Lahoti, Aja Mai Tennu Pyar Kara, Talluq and Akbari Asghari.
Film debut and breakthrough
Malick made her film debut in Shoaib Mansoor's Bol opposite Atif Aslam, Mahira Khan and Iman Ali. Malick performance earned her awards including Lux Style Awards, Pakistan Media Awards, London Asian Film Festival and South Asian Rising Star Film Awards and was nominated for Asia Pacific Screen Awards. In 2012 she appeared in Shehzad Rafique's Ishq Khuda opposite Shaan Shahid, Zara Sheikh, Meera and Ahsan Khan.
Malick is currently working in her Bollywood film Sher opposite Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi and Sunil Shetty directed by Soham Shah. She has also sign three films contract with Vidhu Vinod Chopra's in which one is Chitthiyan, Kunal Deshmukh's Shaatir opposite Emraan Hashmi and Shaan Shahid's Pakistanii film Mission Allahu Akbar which will be start after Muharram.[3][4][5] She will also be seen in Abbas Hasan next music video directed by Rishi Rich in late 2013.[6]
Stage performance
Malick has participated in a number of concerts and award ceremonies. She took part in Lux Style Awards, "Temptations 2012", and performed with other Lollywood actors (including Ahsan Khan, Saba Qamar, Aamina Sheikh, Meera and Ali Zafar. In 2013 Malick performed at Hum Awards with Mehwish Hayat, Ahsan Khan, Fahad Mustafa and Humayun Saeed.
