Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding is a wholly owned subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, the largest shipbuilding group in China and the second largest in the world. Headquartered in Shanghai, Hudong-Zhonghua produces ships for civilian and military use, and is China's only manufacturer of LNG carriers.[1]

Hudong-Zhonghua is reputed to be the cradles to frigates and landing crafts for the Chinese Navy.

General

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding was formed through the merger of Hudong Shipbuilding (1928) and Zhonghua Shipyard (1926) in 2001 and is now the largest shipbuilding company in China.[2]

In Europe

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group, the largest Chinese shipbuilder has set up a joint-venture with the Czech company České loděnice (Czech Shipyard) in Děčín with investment of more than one billion CZK and the creation of 500 jobs in the first stage.[3]
