Hu Xia (Chinese: 胡夏) is the winner of the sixth season of One Million Star.[1][2]

Profile

Hu Xia's name is a symbol of his parents' love for each other; his father's surname is Hu, while his mother's surname is Xia. Hu Xia hails from Guangxi province in southern China. He was 19 years old when he left for Taiwan and won the singing contest in 2010. The host Tao Ching-Ying had predicted that he would be the champion at the beginning of the competition. The judges have consistently given him high praises for his performances. Hu Xia is known as the "Big Brother" of the Super Star, which is an honour for the young singer.

Hu Xia is a Pisces, born in the year of the horse, and is 182 cm tall. His character is known to be kind and pure-hearted. He has stated that he admires his parents the most. Nicknames he commonly go by are xiaxia (夏夏) and xiaoxia(小夏).

Education

Hu Xia studied in Guangxi University's affiliated middle school at 12 years old. He had paused his schooling for a year, then went to another school in his hometown. Due to his involvement in One Million Star and his current career as a singer, his studies have been put on hold.

Competition experience

In 2009, he went to Taiwan to compete in a contest called One Million Star. He won first place in 2010.
