Hove by-election, 1965

The Hove by-election of 22 July 1965 was held after the resignation of Conservative MP Anthony Marlowe:[1] Marlowe had had a heart attack in June 1965.
It was won by the Conservatives' Martin Maddan. There was a 6.2% swing against the Conservatives, but the seat was safe, having been won at the general election by over 17,700 votes.[2]
