Houwerzijl (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦʌuʋərˌzɛil]; Low German: Haauwerziel) is a small village in the Netherlands; it is located in the municipality of De Marne, Groningen. The village took its name from the nearby (but now disused)[2] lock on the Houwerzijlstervaart.[citation needed] Fewer than 280 people live in the village.[3] The Theefabriek is a tea museum and tearoom in the village.[4]
