House of Novosel
The Novosel family (Hungarian: Novoszel) is a Croatian noble family, influential during the period in history marked by the Ottoman wars in Europe in the Kingdom of Croatia and Hungary and in the later Austro-Hungarian Empire. Notable members of this family were Prince (Prince of Palace, lat. comes curialis), Commander of the fort (Hrvatska Kostajnica), Vice Prefect (Požega County and Zagreb County), member of Royal Court (lat. judicium delegatum) and member of the Royal Commission for choking revolt.
Novosels in the 15th century, settling below Medvednica. Novosel were highly expressed in the battles against the Turks, as evidenced by the coat of arms of Duke Mark (Marko) Novosel who rides on horseback and holding severed head of the Turkish Duke, proof that the writings that are somewhere in Istanbul. Family Novosel connected even kinship with the famous family Tepes (House of Drăculeşti) and Count Dracula (Vlad Tepes) who braved the terror of Transylvania.
History
The Novoszels, today known as Novosels confirmed noble title ( 1st confirmation of the Dukes status was disappeared in war against The Ottoman Empire ) 12 September 1744 years of the Empress Maria Theresa. Nobility muniment and coat of arms confirmed Duke Luke Novosel of Transleithania (Croatia and Slavonia part) as Commander of the Hrvatska Kostajnica and for the military merits of the fighting against the Turks from Ottoman Empire. Duke Luke Novosel 12 November 1750 was elected deputy prefect Požega County, 8 April 1755 Empress Maria Theresa appointed him a member of the Commission and envoy Royal Court (judicium delegatum) in suppressing revolts in Virovitica County, session of the Commission and the Court starts 21 May 1755.
The Empress Maria Theresa was appointed for president of Commission and Royal Court is Count Joseph Keglevic, and for members of Commission and Royal Court The Empress appointed is General Count Serbellonia advisors of Ignat Kemfa and deputy prefect of Pozega County Luka Novosel. Chairman of the Commission soon came to the conclusion that the source of rebellion in the entire County Virovitica serfs from Bukovica and "five villages of the upper Alexandar Pejačević" on Virovitica estate. Commission on 14 June 1755 was ordered to bring the ringleaders of revolt in six villages Virovitica. Anthony (Anthon/Anton) Novosel son of Luka Novosel was appointed as a Prince by Bishop Maximilian Vrhovac de Rakitovec and also married with Francisca, she was the sister of Bishop. The Emperor Joseph II was ordered to Bishop Maximilian that he must give printing office and bookstore to someone else. Bishop Maximilian give this printing office and bookstore to Anthony (Anthon/Anton) Novosel. Anthony Novosel husband of Francisca Novosel (born Vrhovac von Rakitovec) was a proprietor of Dolec near Laduc in Susedgrad seigniory. Anthony Novosel was died 27 April 1800.
