History
Horseed (meaning "leader") was established in 2002 by a group of Somali intellectuals in the Netherlands and Finland. Its objective is to inform the public on current affairs, particularly domestic matters.[2][3]
Horseed Media began operations as a website, but now also counts a radio station among its media outlets.[2] The station broadcasts from Bosaso and has a listening audience of about 80,000 people, with a reach of 150 km2.[3] It is owned by Aw Musse Ismail.[2]
Horseed Media also operates a website that has over 10,000 daily visitors.[3]
