Horní Kounice is a village and municipality (obec) in Znojmo District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.
The municipality covers an area of 12.37 square kilometres (4.78 sq mi), and has a population of 267 (as at 3 July 2006).
Horní Kounice lies approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) north-east of Znojmo, 38 km (24 mi) south-west of Brno, and 173 km (107 mi) south-east of Prague.
