Hooked: Muscle Women
Hooked: Muscle Women was a 2008 MSNBC documentary focused on professional female bodybuilding. The primary focuses of the documentary is on two International Federation of BodyBuilders (IFBB) pro bodybuilders, Colette Nelson and Kristy Hawkins and their competing in the 2008 Ms. International. The documentary deals with training, dieting, dating, and why they decided to become bodybuilders.
The next part of the documentary deals with performance enhancing drugs. The documentary also features Teresita Morales a pro natural female bodybuilder who competes in the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF), which performs drug testing, unlike the IFBB which doesn't regular perform drug tests. There are notable differences in size and muscularity between the IFBB pros and the WNBF pros. At the end of the documentary both Colette and Kristy both don't win the Ms. International or even come in the top six. Despite the defeat both of them still determined to continue their bodybuilding career.
