Homi Adajania (Hindi: होमी अदजानिया) is an Indian film director and a C.M.A.S. SCUBA diving Instructor.[citation needed] He is critically acclaimed for his direction debut, Being Cyrus, an off-beat English-language psychological drama film.
Career
Homi Adajania came to attention for directing and co-writing Being Cyrus (2005), which was an off-beat English-Language psychological drama film. Besides being film director, he is a freelance writer, and one of India's highest level SCUBA Diving Instructors. Homi released his first Hindi-language film Cocktail under Saif Ali Khan's banner Illuminati Films. The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty and Boman Irani, Dimple Kapadia and is written by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. It was released on July 13, 2012. In June 2012, the online promotions of Homi Adajania's film Cocktail had gone viral, with his trailer receiving over two million hits in a week of release and his first song release Tumhi Ho Bandhu receiving over a million hits in a few days. Post-release, with a limited number of prints, Cocktail is considered to have had the highest opening week for a multiplex-targeted Hindi film collecting 545 million in a week.
Personal life
Homi credits his passion for storytelling to his late father, a retired soldier and the president of the Indian Boxing Federation.[1]
He is married to a fashion stylist and the Fashion Director of magazine Vogue India, Anaita Shroff Adajania[2] and has two children.[citation needed]
