Holenbrunn

Holenbrunn is a village in the Fichtelgebirge mountains. It is part of the town Wunsiedel in the north-east of the German state Bavaria. It has approximately 1000 inhabitants and an area of 10.09 km2.

History

  • first mentioned around 1500
  • 19th century neighbouring villages (Hauenreuth, Holenbrunn, Juliushammer, Wintersberg and Wintersreuth) were joined to one civil parish
  • 1877 – train track opened
  • 1978 – Amalgamation with Wunsiedel due to an administration reform (Eingemeindung)
