Hobart Earle

Hobart Earle is a Venezuelan conductor of American descent and People's Artist of Ukraine recipient.

Conductor

He became known for leading Odessa Philharmonic Theater for which he was honoured with the People's Artist of Ukraine. After it he became a conductor of both Vienna Chamber and Tonkünstler Orchestra which he conducted in Austria and then became a conductor of Krakow Philharmonic in Poland and Orchestra della Toscana of Italy. This started his European tour and he traveled everywhere throughout that continent (except for Portugal, Balkans and former Yugoslavia) and conducted at such places as the Barbican Centre, Beethovenhalle of Germany, Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Musikverein, National Auitorium of Madrid and Great Hall of both Moscow and Saint Petersburg Conservvatories. Later on he began performing works in the United States, Canada and Australia as well. He also conducted works at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Symphony Center, Davies Hall, and even at the United Nations General Assembly in a troupe with such orchestras as both Buffalo and Florida Philharmonic Orchestras as well as Orchestra Nova San Diego and North Carolina Symphony, to name a few.[1]

Besides conducting performances in various music centers he also participated at Bregenz, Budapest, and Lugano Spring Festivals as well as Perth International and Nuits Musicales du Suquet in Cannes among others. He was also known for his symphonic compositions of El Salón México, Lincoln Portrait and Jeremiah as well as Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs and Gustav Holst's The Planets among other ballet and paly conducting works. From 2010 to 2011 his conducting performances were The Snow Queen and Don Quixote both of which were performed at the Greek National Opera.[1]

While conducting at the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation he received an invitation via e-mail from Viktor Yanukovych who presented him the People's Artist of Ukraine award on June 27, 2013. After it he had an interview with Kievan American Embassy where he talked about his friendship with Bohdan Stupka and even of plans on how to improve Odesa's architecture.[2]

Recordings and awards

He have conducted and recorded works by such composers as Mykola Kolessa, Myroslav Skoryk, Yevhen Stankovych and Reinhold Gliere who were not previously recorded in Ukraine. His works though, were published by such labels as the Albany and ASV Records and were awarded Best Classical Album award in 2002.[1]
