Hnahthial is a census town in Lunglei district in the Indian state of Mizoram.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Hnahthial had a population of 7123. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Hnahthial has an average literacy rate of 80%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 80%. In Hnahthial, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Education
There is one college - Hnahthial College, under Mizoram University and a number of public and private schools.Among the private schools, English Congregation School is a renowned school comprising Nursery to Class VIII.
Transport
A Helicopter service by Pawan Hans[2] has been started which connects the Aizawl with Hnahthial.[3] The Distance between Hnahthial and Aizawl through NH 54 is 172 km and is connected with regular service of Bus and Jeeps.[4]
