Hixson High School is a public high school located in Hixson, Tennessee that serves 790 students from grades 9-12.[2]

History

Hixson High School was originally founded in 1909. Its current site opened in 1966. It has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools since 1959. From 1983 to 1986, Hixson High was recognized for school excellence, winning the Carnegie award in 1984 and being recognized as one of the top 6 high schools in Tennessee.[3]

Athletics

Hixson competes in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA). Hixson High School currently competes in 14 different sports- Bowling, Cross Country, Football, Girl's Soccer, Golf, Volleyball, Wrestling, Girl's Basketball, Boy's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Girl's Track, Boy's Track, Tennis and Boy's Soccer.

Hixson has won more State Championships in sports than any other Hamilton County high school.[4]
